CERN Halts Large Hadron Collider Operations Due to Power Conservation
In Switzerland, the Large Hadron Collider has been halted due to the necessity of conserving electricity. Local media report that operations at this accelerator complex will be reduced by 20% in 2023. During peak hours, the collider consumes nearly one-third of the electricity required to supply Geneva, where it is located.
It is worth noting that this is the world's largest accelerator, created to collide beams of two oppositely charged particles.
