Azmoun Explains Why He Grabbed Iran's Head Coach by the Throat
Iranian national team forward Sardar Azmoun has explained why he grabbed the throat of the team's head coach Carlos Queiroz while celebrating one of the goals scored against Wales: "Everything is normal. We simply love him very much," Azmoun stated as reported by Sport24.
The incident occurred during the celebration of Iran's second goal, which was scored in the 101st minute, while Azmoun had already been substituted.
This victory against Wales marked Iran's first win in the 2022 World Cup. In their opening match, Queiroz's team suffered a 2-6 defeat against England. In the final round of the group stage, Iran will face the United States. Azmoun's team still has chances to advance from the group, currently holding 3 points and sitting in second place.
