No State Should Have Any Claims Over Syunik: Iranian Ambassador in Armenia
The relations between Iran and Armenia are a priority for Iran, stated Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri, the Iranian ambassador to Armenia, during a meeting with Armenia’s Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan today.
The ambassador reaffirmed the importance of the Syunik region for Iran and emphasized that no state should have any claims over this region.
Tehran continues to strongly oppose Azerbaijan’s statements demanding a corridor through Syunik. During the opening of the Iranian Consulate in Syunik, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian declared that Iran considers the security of Armenia and the region as its own security.
