France and Armenia Planned a Dirty Provocation Against Azerbaijan: Aliyev

“Recently, a dirty provocation against Azerbaijan was being planned within the framework of the Francophonie organization, of which we are still not a member, but for some reason, Armenia is. The author of this provocation was France,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at a ceremonial event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party.

The authoritarian leader of Azerbaijan lamented that France is currently sponsoring Armenia. “As you know, France is now sponsoring Armenia. France and Armenia call each other sisters. They could have referred to each other as brothers, but for some reason, they refer to each other as sisters. The preliminary version of the resolution prepared there was based purely on anti-Azerbaijani theses and completely contradicted reality. All anti-Azerbaijani theses were removed thanks to the efforts of our friends in the Francophonie organization—we know them well, and they are our friends in the truest sense of the word. The Franco-Armenian tandem failed to take advantage of this opportunity,” Aliyev stated.
