Four Missiles Fired Towards Turkey's Karkamış City
Four missiles have been fired towards the Turkish city of Karkamış, located near the border with Syria, with one missile reportedly hitting a school building, local media outlets have reported.
The attack resulted in injuries, although the number of wounded has not been disclosed. Authorities have also reported the deaths of two individuals. Shrapnel from the missiles were found in two nearby houses and on a parked truck close to the Karkamış border gates.
According to Haberturk television, the attack was carried out by forces of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is banned in Turkey.
Earlier, reports indicated that Turkey had launched an air operation against the PKK in northern Syria and Iraq. The Ministry of Defense has reported the elimination of 89 targets.
