Blinken Urges Ilham Aliyev to Maintain Ceasefire and Halt Provocations
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke today with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The two sides discussed the outcomes of the Armenian-Azerbaijani bilateral peace negotiations and the next steps ahead.
Secretary Blinken emphasized the United States' support for the peace process and urged both parties to plan for further negotiations, as agreed in Washington. He encouraged Ilham Aliyev to maintain the ceasefire and to cease provocations while also exploring measures to build trust with Armenia to lay the groundwork for peace.
