Is the ruling faction preparing to greet the opposition with applause? "Hraparak"
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "The opposition has decided to return to the parliament. Starting today, the deputies of the "Armenia" and "I Have Honor" factions will also participate in the sessions of the National Assembly. In a conversation with us, ruling party MP Hovik Aghazaryan said he is personally pleased that the opposition is returning.
Regarding our remark that their faction had welcomed the opposition with physical altercations and insults for a year, and ultimately sent them out of the hall with applause, we asked whether they are now preparing to welcome them with applause. Aghazaryan responded, "There were only two incidents, if I am not mistaken, so it would not be correct to generalize that for the entire year. I will not miss any opportunity to emphasize, repeat, and value the role of the opposition as a part of the government, in terms of enhancing the quality of the National Assembly's work. That’s why I am very happy that our opposition colleagues have made such a decision."
We repeated the question: Is it possible that this joy will also be expressed with applause, as they did when sending them off? Aghazaryan said, "No, I will not applaud because that would be excessive."
