Russia to Intensify Offensive Operations in Donetsk Region
Russian offensive operations in the Donetsk region are set to intensify in the coming weeks as more mobilized troops arrive, along with forces withdrawn from the western part of the Kherson region. According to a recent report by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian forces in the area will face intense pressure, and Kyiv will likely have to redeploy its military to defend against these Russian assaults, as reported by the BBC.
Analysts believe that Russians are unlikely to achieve substantial success despite their significant efforts. It is also noted that while they might capture Bakhmut over time, it will come at a tremendous cost in casualties.
