Russia Prohibits Loaded Vessels from Crossing Kerch Strait to Sea of Azov
The General Directorate of Maritime Affairs attached to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey has announced that Russia has prohibited loaded vessels from crossing the Kerch Strait to the Sea of Azov from the territory of the Russian Federation.
“According to the official notification we received from the maritime administration of the Russian Federation, the passage of loaded vessels from the territory of the Russian Federation to the north through the Kerch Strait, which provides access to the Sea of Azov, is prohibited,” the agency reported to TASS.
The reasons for the restrictions have not been specified, and there has been no official confirmation from the Russian side.
