Mbappe Reveals How Macron Asked Him Not to Leave PSG
PSG forward Kylian Mbappe recalled how French President Emmanuel Macron called him in early 2022. At that time, the 23-year-old footballer was considering a move to Real Madrid, but extended his contract with the Parisian team for another three years.
“Macron called and said, ‘I know you want to leave. I want to tell you that you are also important in France. I don’t want you to go. You have the chance to write history here. Everyone loves you.’ I said I appreciated it because it’s really crazy that the president of the country calls you and says he wants you to stay,” Mbappe stated, as reported by Sports Illustrated.
Mbappe has been playing for PSG since 2017.
