Brother-in-law of Minister Papikyan Appointed to a Position
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports: "About 10 days ago, we learned that the brother of Defense Minister Suren Papikyan's wife, Armen Muradyan, has been appointed as an advisor on logistics to Acting Director of Haypost Arayik Abrahamyan. Previously, he worked as a courier at Coca-Cola Company, and we have been informed that he had been unemployed for several months at the time of his appointment.
Moreover, it has been revealed that certain documents were falsified during the appointment process. Nevertheless, Muradyan was assigned to a high-paying and low-demand position that does not correspond to his biography and educational qualifications.
We reached out to Haypost for clarification. We asked if a person with that name had been employed and what position he held. However, Haypost did not even provide a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer, insisting on a written inquiry, and their response was sent by mail. After a lengthy odyssey, we received the 'coveted' answer: 'In connection with your inquiry, we inform you that the requested data is personal information regarding the employee and cannot be provided without the employee's consent in accordance with the Law on Personal Data... Haypost LLC ensures the confidentiality of information related to its employees and does not disclose information that is subject to protection to third parties.' First, our query did not contain any personal data; we did not ask for the address of the postal worker, and second, the mediation of a high-ranking state official and the employment of a relative cannot be considered confidential information. It is akin to the investigative body initiating criminal proceedings only with the permission of the criminal. You can read the full article in today’s issue of the newspaper."
