VIDEO: Belarus Opposes EU and OSCE Presence on Armenian-Azerbaijani Border

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has expressed opposition to the involvement of Western missions in the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. He believes that Armenia and Azerbaijan should reach an agreement through Russian mediation. The leader made this statement during an extraordinary session of the Collective Security Council of the CSTO.

According to Pul Pervogo-Telegram channel, Lukashenko's main thesis was as follows: “The war ended with Russia's help. Why are other new formats coming in today?”

“The tripartite meeting between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Russia, which is literally going to take place in a few days, should come to an agreement. And Belarus will support any decision they make. The President of Belarus is against the presence of additional Western missions such as the EU and the OSCE,” he stated.

The next meeting of the CSTO leaders is scheduled for the end of November, during which the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border will be discussed again.

Today, the results of the CSTO mission sent to Armenia in relation to the escalation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border were discussed at the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council. Joint measures to provide assistance to Armenia were also considered.
