The Videos are from 2020: Human Rights Defender on the Footage Transferred by Klaar
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Kristine Grigoryan, stated in a press briefing that the videos transmitted by the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, Toivo Klaar, to the Armenian human rights defender are from 2020.
“I have received these videos from Klaar, and their legal assessment, including the results of the examinations, must be provided by law enforcement agencies. I have forwarded the videos to the Prosecutor General's office and will await a response since we know that there were already criminal cases initiated regarding such evident incidents dating back to 2021, and we need to establish this with information obtained from law enforcement,” Grigoryan stated.
It is worth noting that weeks ago, Grigoryan had asked Klaar to provide the videos that, according to his assertions, may indicate torture of Azerbaijani prisoners or bodies.
The Human Rights Defender also addressed the question of how many individuals are currently missing, emphasizing that on the 16th, they received more than 40 applications indicating that their relative is missing. According to her, during this period, more than 130 bodies have been handed over, and the number of missing persons may change in the process of identification.
