Russia is No Longer a Reliable Trading Partner Under Putin, Says Scholz
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz asserts that Germany has already overcome its reliance on Russian gas supplies and aims to reduce the consumption of this resource by 20 percent. The information was reported by TASS.
“I am pleased that we have managed to agree at the European level on a target to reduce gas consumption by 15 percent. This is a strong signal of European solidarity, and also for our country, which has so far been particularly dependent on Russian gas,” Scholz said in the Bundestag.
At the same time, he thanked the citizens for their efforts in saving energy. The Chancellor also stated that Moscow is using energy as a weapon.
“Russia is no longer a reliable trading partner under Putin,” Scholz added.
