Attempts Made to Send That Mission from Azerbaijan as Well: Ilham Aliyev
The EU attempted to send a civilian mission to the territory of Azerbaijan, which was firmly rejected by Baku, stated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
“On October 6, a quadrilateral meeting took place in Prague within the framework of the new platform of the European Political Community, with the participation of the President of France, the President of the European Council, the Prime Minister of Armenia, and the President of Azerbaijan. Following hours of negotiations at the meeting, a decision was made to send a civilian mission consisting of 40 individuals from the European Union to the Armenian territory, near the Armenia-Azerbaijan border,” Aliyev said at the CIS summit in Astana.
“An attempt was made to send that mission from the Azerbaijani side as well, which was firmly rejected by us,” the President of Azerbaijan emphasized, noting that “that mission will be deployed in the territory of Armenia, in the zone of responsibility of the CSTO.”
In his speech, Aliyev also stated that Baku does not see any possibility of mediation from Paris in the resolution of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations after the statements made by the French President. “In those statements, he accused Azerbaijan of starting a terrible war, thereby trying to mislead the French and global public by manipulating the facts,” claimed the President of Azerbaijan.
