Appeal Against Decision Not to Initiate Criminal Case Regarding Bodies of Fallen Soldiers in Abovyan Morgue Rejected
The Court of General Jurisdiction in Kotayk Province has rejected an appeal against the decision not to initiate a criminal case regarding the bodies of soldiers who died during the 44-day war, found piled in bags in the basement of the Abovyan morgue, on August 3.
According to attorney Garik Galikyan, who filed the appeal, he has not yet received the court's decision and is unable to comment on it.
It is worth noting that this shocking revelation was made by the relatives of the fallen soldiers on May 31, 2021. The parents of the deceased soldiers are demanding accountability for the handling of their sons' remains and relics in such a manner within the morgue's basement.
