I Will Continue to Do That: Germany's Chancellor on Talks with Putin
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced his intention to continue negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to TASS. He revealed his plans during a meeting with citizens.
“I have met with the President of Russia in Moscow at a long table. I have spoken to him many times on the phone. And I clearly state that I will continue to do that,” he said.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request for assistance from the leaders of the Donbas republics. Subsequently, the West imposed wide-ranging sanctions against Russia. Western countries have significantly increased their supply of weapons and military equipment to Kyiv, amounting to billions of dollars.
