NSS Statement on Operations Conducted at the "Sasuntsi Davit" Station
The National Security Service of Armenia has announced that on August 31 of this year, counter-terrorism training exercises were conducted at the "Sasuntsi Davit" metro station in Yerevan, as well as in the surrounding areas and on the Yerevan-Tbilisi-Yerevan passenger train, pursuant to Article 9, Part 1, Clause 1 of the Law on Combating Terrorism.
The results of the training exercises have been assessed positively, and all necessary issues have been deemed resolved.
The NSS urges residents to demonstrate understanding towards the work being carried out by law enforcement agencies, to provide possible support, and to rely solely on official information sources. At the same time, citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and pay attention to unattended items and objects in public spaces and transportation, reporting any concerns to law enforcement agencies.
It should be noted that Auroranews confirmed earlier in the morning that training exercises were indeed taking place at the site, although some media outlets reported a bomb threat.
