Death Toll from Floods in Pakistan Exceeds 1000
The death toll from floods in Pakistan has surpassed 1000, according to a statement from the National Disaster Management Authority, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to the agency's data, from June 14, the monsoon rains and subsequent floods have resulted in 1033 fatalities and 1527 injuries. In the last 24 hours alone, 119 people have died and 71 have been injured.
The authority noted that due to the rains and overflowing rivers, 3451.5 kilometers of roads have been damaged, 149 bridges have collapsed, and a total of 949,800 homes have been either completely or partially destroyed, along with the deaths of over 719,500 livestock.
