Yesterday evening, on August 21, the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, left the country. What is the purpose of his trip and how did he leave considering that there is a court-imposed ban on leaving the country? To clarify these questions, Yerevan.Today spoke with Bagrat Mikoyan, the coordinator of the office of the second president of Armenia.

“President Kocharyan departed from Armenia for a week. The president's legal team appealed to the court to obtain permission for travel, taking advantage of the fact that there is a large break in the proceedings until September 20. The court allowed him to be absent from Armenia from August 22-29. President Kocharyan took this opportunity and left. He will return on August 29,” Mikoyan noted.

Mikoyan did not provide details about the country he is visiting or the purpose of his trip.

When asked if Robert Kocharyan had traveled to the Russian Federation, he responded: “No, President Kocharyan has not gone to Russia; he has traveled to another country.”
