Erdogan: We Had a Constructive Conversation with Pashinyan
Peace cannot be established in the world merely through speeches about peace. It is evident that without being strong on the battlefield, it is difficult to achieve results at the negotiating table. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who added that the international community has not taken significant steps against Armenia's nearly 30 years of "occupational" policies.
Erdogan stated that following Azerbaijan's victory in the 44-day war, the occupation has ended, according to posta.com.tr. “We are working diligently so as not to lose this historic opportunity. We have made significant progress towards stable peace in the Caucasus. We have had very constructive conversations with Pashinyan. I believe that our region will stabilize in a short time if Armenia responds to calls,” Erdogan said.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister of Armenia had a telephone conversation with Erdogan in July. This marked the first phone call between the leaders of two countries, which have had no diplomatic relations and closed borders for nearly 30 years. The leaders of the two countries emphasized the importance of the normalization process of Armenian-Turkish relations, which will also contribute to strengthening peace and stability in the region, and congratulated each other on the occasions of Kurban Bayram and Vardavar.
