The participant of the three-month training gathering who suddenly died in his sleep was 44-year-old Atom Harutyunyan from the village of Kurtan in the Lori region. He had three children: two daughters and one son.

"His eldest daughter was about 23 years old and, as far as I know, she is a student. The other two children are minors and attend school. He lived with his wife, children, and mother. They were a very calm and good family. Atom mainly worked in agriculture," a villager told NEWS.am.

According to the villager, Atom Harutyunyan had been sent to Vardenis for military exercises. "I know that he did not have health problems, but I do not know if he underwent medical examinations before going to the exercises," said the villager.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that on the night of August 3 to 4, during his sleep, the participant of the three-month training gathering, reserve private Atom Razmik Harutyunyan (born in 1978), died suddenly. A forensic examination has been appointed to determine the cause of death.
