UN Secretary-General on Escalating Tensions in Artsakh
UN Secretary-General António Guterres is closely monitoring recent reports regarding escalating tensions in Nagorno-Karabakh and its surrounding areas. This information was shared during a press briefing by Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General.
“We urge the parties to exercise restraint and resolve all existing issues through dialogue,” he added.
On the morning of August 3, Azerbaijani armed forces launched an attack targeting the combat positions of the Artsakh Defense Army, employing various calibers of firearms as well as mortars, grenade launchers, and strike drones. As a result, contract servicemen Gurgen Galeryan and Arthur Khachatryan were fatally injured.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has recorded that the ceasefire was violated by Azerbaijan.
