What Will the Normalization of Armenian-Turkish Relations Bring? US State Department's Response
The US State Department, in response to a question from Voice of America regarding the phone conversation between Armenian and Turkish leaders and the ongoing dialogue between the two countries, has expressed its support for the "normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations." The press service of the US State Department stated:
“The United States firmly supports the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations, which will have a positive impact on the entire region. The Armenian-Turkish dialogue has the potential to increase regional stability, mitigate harmful effects, and lead to greater economic development that benefits everyone.”
This is particularly important today, given Russia's war in Ukraine. The United States is ready to support this important dialogue as both sides deem appropriate,” the US State Department's response concluded.
