Archbishop Navassard Kchoyan Will Not Hold March: Details on the Circulating Information
The Vicar of the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese, Archbishop Navassard Kchoyan, was scheduled to hold a march in Yerevan on July 23. The municipality has acknowledged his notification.
According to a statement from the Yerevan city hall, “The notice from the Vicar of the Armenian Apostolic Church's Ararat Patriarchal Diocese, Archbishop Navassard Kchoyan, indicating the organization of a march on July 23 at 18:00 from the vicinity of St. Sarkis Church to the route of Mashtots Avenue-St. Gregory the Illuminator Street-Children's Park, has been accepted based on the decision of the authorized representative of the Mayor of Yerevan dated 04.07.2022.”
However, later it became known to Auroranews that the march will not be held by Archbishop Navassard.
“Since 2015, the youth of the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese have been organizing a march the day before Vardavar, celebrating the traditional holiday in Yerevan. According to the law, the municipality is informed about this. The letter is sent to the city hall on behalf of Vicar Archbishop Navassard,” the Ararat Patriarchal Diocese informed us.
