National Assembly Calls Extraordinary Session
The National Assembly of Armenia has convened an extraordinary session on July 7, which is likely to be the last one. The agenda includes 22 items that the lawmakers have not yet had the chance to discuss.
Most of the proposed projects are authored by the government and will be discussed from first to second readings. According to the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, the agenda also includes amendments to the Defense Law, which will change the structure of the Ministry of Defense. For instance, the position of Chief of General Staff will no longer exist, and it will be considered as the Deputy Minister of Defense.
