Exceptional Incident in Ararat Region: 63-Year-Old Man Enters Hospital with Knife Threatening to Kill Doctor

An extraordinary incident occurred in the Ararat region on June 28. Around 10:40 PM, the police received operational information that at the "Ararat" medical center, a 63-year-old resident named Gegham K. had entered the reception area armed with a knife and made threats in the presence of the on-duty nurse, declaring that he was looking for Doctor Hamarchyan to kill him. He then shouted obscenities in a general direction and disrupted the normal operations of the hospital for about half an hour.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, after that, Gegham K. exited the hospital yard, broke a beer bottle, and injured his left forearm. The police patrol arrived at the hospital, neutralized Gegham K., and transferred him to the Ararat police department, where he was released shortly thereafter.

The Ararat police investigation department is preparing materials regarding the incident.
