Ukrainian Events Pose Threat of Global Hunger Wave, Borrell Says
The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, stated that the events in Ukraine are creating a "threat of a global wave of hunger," and the EU is ready to work with the United Nations to prevent a food disaster. According to Armenpress, this information was reported by Interfax.
"I assured all my interlocutors that we are ready to work with the UN and our partners to prevent any undesirable impact of our sanctions on global food security. We are in close contact with the UN to address issues that may affect Russian grain or fertilizer purchases," Borrell said.
Borrell also added that it is urgent to give Ukraine the capability to export its grain through the Black Sea.
