New Road Marking to Be Introduced in Traffic: "Zhoghovurd"
"Zhoghovurd" daily reports that a new road marking will be introduced in Armenia. The newspaper learned that a red broken line will be applied to mark the stopping points for public transportation and the parking spaces for light passenger-taxi vehicles.
It turns out that the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure has studied international practices and found it appropriate to implement the new marking, which is expected to increase the alertness of drivers approaching uncontrolled intersections and enhance pedestrian traffic safety.
On the other hand, citizens are complaining and reporting that the red ground marking is not sufficiently visible and understandable for participants in road traffic. Therefore, it is proposed to use yellow ground markings to make them more visible and comprehensible for road traffic participants.
