Murder in Yerevan: Police Identify Suspect
Today, June 9, a murder occurred in Yerevan. At about 1:10 AM, a call was received at the Shengavit Division of the police from a hospital, stating that a citizen with "stab wounds to the left side of the chest" had been transported to them.
According to Shamshyan.com, a police operational group from the Shengavit Division, led by an officer from the Criminal Investigation Department and a supervisor from the Community Police Division, was dispatched to the hospital. The police discovered that the victim was 44-year-old Sevak Nurijanyan, a resident of Yerevan, who, in extremely critical condition, did not regain consciousness and died about an hour later.
A criminal case has been initiated under the 1st part of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
Officers from the Central Criminal Police Division of the Police of Armenia and the Criminal Investigation Division of Yerevan identified that on the same day, around 12:30 AM, a dispute occurred near 87/2 Bagratuniats Street between Sevak Nurijanyan and 56-year-old Rudiq Gh. from Ararat Province, during which the latter inflicted multiple stab wounds to Nurijanyan's chest with a knife he had with him.
The police are taking necessary measures to locate the suspect R. Ghazaryan and the knife used in the crime. Several forensic examinations, including a forensic medical examination of the body, have been appointed by the investigator.
