Electronic Payment System in Yerevan Public Transport to be Implemented by Year-End, City Hall
The electronic fare payment system for public transport in Yerevan is expected to be implemented by the end of the year. Efforts are being made to meet this deadline. This information was provided by the Yerevan City Hall in response to a written inquiry from Sputnik Armenia.
According to the city hall, the results of the current pilot program will be taken into account when launching the new payment system (coin acceptance boxes have been installed on certain buses).
“The new route network of Yerevan public transport will be possible after acquiring the necessary number of vehicles,” the response stated.
