Earthquake in Armenia
On May 17, 2022, at 17:03 local time (13:03 GMT), the seismic network of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.5. The epicenter was located 3 km west of the village of Khashtarak at geographical coordinates of 40.93°N latitude and 45.15°E longitude, at a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the earthquake in the epicentral zone was measured at 3 on the Richter scale. The tremors were felt in the villages of Azatamut, Ditavan, Aygehovit, Lusadzor, and Khashtarak in the Tavush Province, with a force of 2-3 on the scale.
