The Tiger at Yerevan Zoo to Be Euthanized
One of the oldest animals in the Yerevan Zoo, a 21-year-old Bengal tiger, is set to be euthanized. The decision was made during a meeting of the Zoo Management Council held today. The information was published on the zoo's Facebook page.
“The tiger has multiple health issues, including problems with its kidneys, pancreas, and oral cavity, as well as the presence of bed sores. It is not eating properly and is struggling with its hind limbs,” the statement reads.
Following a professional discussion, it was unanimously decided to euthanize the animal in order to relieve its suffering, based on the final conclusion of the veterinary consultation.
