A Statement from the EU Like Never Before: What Borrell Said

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, during his visit to Kyiv, expressed that the conflict should be resolved in a military rather than diplomatic manner. This was reported by Telegram channels.

“That war must be won on the battlefield,” Borrell wrote on his Twitter page. It is noted that such a statement has been made by the EU for the first time in history.

Previously, the leaders of the union had not made similar declarations either during the war in Yugoslavia, in Libya, or in Afghanistan.
