Dmitry Peskov: "I Was Surprised, The Children Were More Surprised Than Me" About Sanctions

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, stated that he is surprised by the decision of Western authorities to impose sanctions against his children, but believes it has had a positive educational impact.

This was discussed during an interview on the "Rossiya-1" television channel, where he responded to questions from journalist Pavel Zarubin on the Moscow.Kremlin.Putin program.

“Well, to be honest, I was surprised, especially for the sake of my children; they were more surprised than I was,” Peskov admitted. “But on the other hand, this, perhaps, was the best confirmation of my stories about the unfriendly actions directed against our country,” he added.

The spokesperson for the Russian leader mentioned that after personal sanctions were imposed against them, his children “suddenly understood that everything I tell them is true.”

“Well, you see, the younger generation, they are growing up as such cosmopolitans, as people of the world. And when you say that, perhaps, ‘this’ does not completely correspond to our traditions and customs, and ‘this’ does not fit into our genetic code—this is not always understood,” Peskov clarified.
