Residents of Artsakh Suffer from Lack of Heating and Hot Water for Weeks: International Organization Responds
The renowned international human rights organization "Freedom House" has urged the Azerbaijani authorities to restore gas supply in Artsakh, preventing the escalation of a humanitarian crisis. This was stated on the organization’s official Twitter page.
“Azerbaijan must prevent a humanitarian crisis by restoring uninterrupted gas supply to the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh, who have been suffering from the absence of heating and hot water for weeks in freezing conditions,” reads the statement from "Freedom House."
The Azerbaijani authorities have disrupted gas supply to Artsakh for the third week, with the exception of one day, allegedly by installing a valve on the pipeline near the occupied city of Shushi. Despite ongoing negotiations, Baku refuses to agree to restore the supply, calling for “Armenia to withdraw its armed forces from the region.” The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already condemned these actions by Azerbaijan as a despicable step leading to humanitarian disaster.
