Ukraine Prepared to Strike Russian Forces stationed in Belarus: Lukashenko
Ukrainian anti-air and missile units were preparing to strike Russian troops located in Belarus near the border. This statement was made by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting of the Security Council on Tuesday.
“Our intelligence and the Russians have detected several anti-air and missile divisions in Ukraine, immediately adjacent to the Belarusian border, which were prepared to strike Russian troops concentrated in Belarus. Simultaneously with the announcement of the decision to carry out a special operation by the Russian Federation, Russia delivered a preemptive strike on those heavy weapons,” Lukashenko stated, as quoted by BelTA.
He added that there were plans to utilize the forces stationed in Belarus for the execution of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. “Of course, the group of troops remaining in Belarus had to be utilized, and I was informed about this at 5 a.m. on February 24,” Lukashenko said.
