Approximately 10,000 Rifles Provided to Territorial Defense Volunteers in Kyiv

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has provided nearly 10,000 rifles to members of voluntary battalions of Kyiv's Territorial Defense Forces (TDF). This was announced by Fedor Venislavskiy, a member of the presidential faction 'Servant of the People' in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.

“Today, just one hour before the broadcast, I spoke with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr. Denis Monastyrsky, and he informed me that only in the last few hours, around 10,000 rifles were distributed to volunteer members in Kyiv,” he stated during the evening broadcast on the 'Rada' television channel.

“They are armed and currently patrolling the streets of Kyiv,” he added.

On Thursday morning, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that in response to the appeals from the leaders of the Donbas republics, he decided to carry out a special military operation. The Russian leader emphasized that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation has stated that Russian soldiers are not targeting Ukrainian cities, but are disrupting military infrastructure using precision measures. The department assured that civilians are not threatened.
