Medvedev: 'I Believe It Is Obvious to All Intelligent People That Sanctions Are a Formality'
Sanctions are a myth and a formality, used out of political impotence and inability to change Russia's political course, said Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia.
"I believe it is obvious to all intelligent people that sanctions are a myth, a formality, a figure of speech. I, for one, am deeply indifferent to these highly advertised sanctions on rights restrictions abroad. One could express oneself even more harshly, but I will refrain from doing so. I am a citizen of the Russian Federation, and that says it all. The reason for the imposition of sanctions is evident: political impotence stemming from the inability to change Russia's political course," Medvedev wrote on his page on VKontakte.
