Blinken Cancels Meeting with Lavrov
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has announced the cancellation of the meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, which was scheduled for February 24, due to the recognition of the DNR and LNR. This was reported by RT.
“Last week, I agreed to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on February 24 to discuss our countries' joint concerns regarding European security, but only on the condition that Russia does not invade Ukraine. Since we see that the invasion has begun, and Russia rejects diplomacy, the meeting makes no sense,” Blinken said at a press conference.
The meeting between Blinken and Lavrov was scheduled to take place in Geneva on February 24.
