US Plans to Withdraw All Remaining Diplomats from Kyiv Within 24-48 Hours

The American administration is planning to withdraw all remaining personnel from Kyiv within 24-48 hours, CBS reports, citing its sources.

Earlier, a senior State Department official announced that the US does not plan to close its embassy in Kyiv but will reduce the number of staff, including relocating some diplomats to Lviv.

As of February 13, the consular services of the Kyiv embassy have been suspended.

“It is clear that we cannot predict the future, and we do not know exactly what will happen. However, the risk is quite high at the moment, and the threat is significant enough that this (leaving Ukraine) would be considered a rational decision,” said Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Advisor.
