Zelensky and Trudeau Hold Phone Conversation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a phone conversation in which they discussed the security situation around Ukraine's borders, as well as issues related to financial assistance for Kyiv, reports the press service of the Ukrainian President.
“Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held another phone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, during which he shared steps being taken towards de-escalation and establishing peace within the existing negotiation formats. The parties discussed enhancing our country's assistance in the context of current security challenges. The President also highly appreciated the Canadian side's decision to provide Ukraine with significant additional financial aid,” states a press release on the office's website.
It is noted that during the conversation, Zelensky thanked Trudeau for the assistance provided and invited him to visit Ukraine with his wife. “I greatly appreciate Canada’s support for Ukraine. Our country has already received financial assistance in the amount of $120 million, and the continuation of the UNIFIER training mission is also critically important for us,” said Zelensky.
