Another Country Halts Operations in Kyiv
The Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has ordered the suspension of its embassy operations in Kyiv and urged staff to leave the country due to the prevailing situation in Ukraine. This was stated in a press release by Australia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry.
"In light of the deteriorating security situation due to the buildup of Russian forces at the Ukrainian border, the Australian government has instructed the embassy in Kyiv to cease operations," the statement read.
It was noted that the Australian embassy will be relocated from Kyiv to Lviv. Meanwhile, Australian citizens currently in Ukraine have been advised to leave the country immediately via commercial transport, as "security conditions may change at very short notice."
