«Give me a piece too, I'll take it home, show it to the children»: Lukashenko
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, expressed a desire to take home a piece of bread from besieged Leningrad that was brought to Minsk by the Governor of Saint Petersburg, Alexander Beglov. This was reported by the Telegram channel of ‘Sputnik Belarus’.
Lukashenko's meeting with Beglov and Boris Gryzlov, the new Russian ambassador to Belarus, took place on February 1. Beglov brought the blockaded bread for an exhibition titled ‘Symbols of Besieged Leningrad’ at the Great Patriotic War Museum.
«Give me a piece too, I'll take it home, show it to the children,» Lukashenko requested.
As Belarus Today clarifies, a part of the bread will be handed over to Lukashenko.
