Resignation in the City Hall
On January 24, Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan signed a decision to dismiss Deputy Mayor Sergey Harutyunyan from his position. The decision states, “Guided by Article 112 of the Labor Code, part 5 of Article 48 of the Law on Local Self-Government in Yerevan, and based on the application of S. Harutyunyan: 1. Sergey Harutyunyan is relieved of his duties as deputy mayor of Yerevan effective January 24, 2022. 2. The head of the financial department is instructed to finalize the settlement in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, and the last working day is to be considered January 21, 2022.”
Harutyunyan was responsible for overseeing and managing the activities of the health, trade and services, external design and advertising, and real estate management departments of the city hall, as well as the mobilization department. He was appointed deputy mayor on October 29, 2018.
