Vardevanyan Calls for Amnesty
In 2021, the draft law on "Declaring Amnesty" introduced by the Investigative Committee of Armenia has not yet received any progress. This was reminded today by Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, during the announcement session at the National Assembly.
"I believe it is indeed time for the government to make progress on this document," said the opposition MP, adding that the proposal is logical, especially considering the presence of detained individuals in Armenia following their captivity by Azerbaijan.
According to him, the amnesty draft could also include articles related to serious crimes. Vardevanyan promised to vote in favor of the government's proposed draft in that case.
