Car Flips Over into Gorge Following Accident in Syunik Province
On January 16, a significant car accident occurred in Syunik Province. At approximately 16:00, an Opel Zafira vehicle veered off the roadway near the "Karavan" restaurant complex on the Kapan-Kajaran highway. The car collided with a gas pipeline and, rolling approximately 50 meters, flipped over into a gorge.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, four individuals were transported to the medical center in Kapan as a result of the accident. Bystanders were the first to assist the injured, pulling one person from the gorge, while others were rescued by firefighters from the 54th Fire and Rescue Unit of the Emergency Situations Ministry who arrived promptly.
The rescuers subsequently disconnected the vehicle from power and secured the area. The police are investigating the identities of the driver and the injured parties.
