Son of Former Urtsadzor Community Leader Arrested
The investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in the Ararat region is taking necessary measures to clarify all circumstances regarding the use of violence against police officers by the son of the former leader of the Urtsadzor community.
According to preliminary data, on January 15, 2022, during the detention of the former community leader on suspicion of committing self-justice, his son, while driving a "VAZ 2121" car, which also had a resident of the same village inside, crossed into the oncoming traffic lane and crashed into the front part of a police service "Toyota" vehicle. After exiting the vehicle, he began to express discontent about his father's detention by the police and threatened the officers, refusing to comply with their legal demands.
As a result of the collision with the police vehicle, two officers sustained injuries and sought medical assistance. A forensic medical examination has been appointed.
