Video: Weapons and Foreign Passports Found with Arrested Terrorists in Kazakhstan
The Almaty police are investigating the presence of hiding terrorists, reports a correspondent from Sputnik Kazakhstan. Last night, 100 participants in terrorist attacks and robbers were arrested in Almaty. A total of 118 weapons and over a thousand rounds of ammunition were seized. The areas where the terrorists fought have already been cleared.
Another video has been released showing the arrested terrorists and the weapons seized from them. Additionally, foreign passports, Molotov cocktails, and alcoholic beverages have been discovered.
In total, 850 participants in the terrorist attacks and robbery in Almaty have been arrested. According to authorities, locations such as the Presidential Residence, the city's akimat, Republic Square, the Duman micro-district, and several other areas have already been cleared.
Three police officers have been killed in Almaty, and 160 people have been injured. Currently, Republic Square is calm, with no gunfire reported. The police continue to examine city buildings for any hidden terrorists.
The overall situation in the city has relatively stabilized. Approximately 3,000 people participated in the protests in the East Kazakhstan region. Many were under the influence of alcohol and drugs and attacked law enforcement officers. 25 police officers were injured, and 13 patrol vehicles were destroyed, as reported by Interfax.
Currently, the streets of Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey are sparsely populated and quiet. Military vehicles are stationed near the regional akimat.
During the unrest in Kazakhstan, about 6,000 people have been arrested, including many foreigners, according to Tokayev's press service.
Meanwhile, the transfer of Russian armed forces units, including the 45th Air Brigade of the Russian Aerospace Forces, to Kazakhstan for the CSTO peacekeeping operation continues. Peacekeepers from CSTO member countries have taken control of several strategic facilities in Kazakhstan, as reported by the president's press service. Operational groups are engaged in maintaining the state of emergency in the country and restoring order, while the CSTO peacekeeping forces have been tasked with protecting various strategic sites.
