Pashinyan Makes Decision on Participation of Armenian Armed Forces in Peacekeeping Operations Outside the Country
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has made a decision regarding the participation of a unit of the Armenian Armed Forces in peacekeeping operations outside of the Republic of Armenia.
Guided by Article 5, Part 5 and Article 7, Part 1, Item 1 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia on Defense, and taking into account the Collective Security Treaty Organization’s (CSTO) Collective Security Council decision No. 1/ CSTO from January 6, 2022, the Government of the Republic of Armenia has decided:
- To permit the involvement of the unit of the Armenian Armed Forces, which is part of the CSTO peacekeeping forces, in peacekeeping operations being conducted in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- To instruct the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia to ensure the process of the departure of the mentioned unit to the Republic of Kazakhstan, in accordance with the CSTO Collective Security Council decision No. 1/ CSTO dated January 6, 2022.
